BadRedhead Media, LLC (Rachel Thompson)

Rachel Thompson founded BadRedhead Media, LLC, a book marketing and social media company she launched in 2011. She works with traditionally published and independent authors to build visibility, develop their author brands, and create marketing strategies that fit their books, audiences, and budgets. Her work includes social media strategy and management, Substack setup and growth, SEO, book launches, advertising, promotions and giveaways, review strategies, and one-on-one consulting. Rachel’s approach is rooted in relationships, consistency, and discoverability rather than gimmicks, funnels, or promises that posting on social media will magically sell a truckload of books. Rachel is also the author of eight books, including the award-winning Broken series as well as books for writers on book marketing, social media, and SEO. Because she’s an author herself, she understands the strange intersection of writing something deeply personal and then being expected to turn around and market the hell out of it. Through BadRedhead Media, Rachel helps writers understand not only what to do, but why they’re doing it, so they can make smarter decisions about where to spend their time and money. Her philosophy is simple: book marketing is about building visibility and relationships over time, not chasing every shiny new platform or pretending there’s one magic formula that works for every author.
